The Passion Translation is a project of a translator with a missionary background who believes that God commissioned him to produce this translation. Its aim is to create a passion for God through this way of presenting scripture. I would rate is as more dynamic than formal, and there are strong indications of the translator's theology in it. It is not, however, wildly inaccurate as various critics have indicated. It should be used with caution, as should any translation created by an individual or by a group that share a single theological tradition stream, in this case charismatic with connections to the new apostolic reformation group.
